Iris Plaid Patterned Board Mounted Flat Roman Valance
Product Description

Create a calm, tailored frame at the top of the window without adding visual weight. The product imagery shows a smooth, uninterrupted front extending cleanly across the window, softened by neatly wrapped side returns and a restrained single-fold detail. The result has the composed rhythm of a Roman shade held in place, with a subtle lower skirt that adds just enough depth.

An internal support rod helps the front edge stay smooth and defined, while the sturdy wood board conceals brackets and other hardware. Pair it with drapery, roller shades, or shutters for a finished look that works especially well in modern, transitional, and minimalist spaces.

Features

  • Smooth Flat Face: A broad, uninterrupted front creates a quiet, streamlined silhouette with no gathered fullness.
  • Roman-Inspired Detail: A restrained single fold and subtle lower skirt add gentle dimension while preserving the clean horizontal line.
  • Reinforced Definition: An internal support rod along the front edge helps maintain the valance's smooth, crisp shape over time.

Why Choose our Valances

  • Conceals the Hardware: Hides rods, tracks, and mechanisms for a clean, finished line.
  • Balances Uneven Windows: When window heights vary slightly, a valance sets a consistent upper line and restores visual order.
  • Closes the Gap: Fills the space between window top and ceiling or crown molding, giving the treatment a more grounded feel.
  • Improves Insulation: Adds a layer that helps reduce drafts from older windows.
  • A Considered Finish: Brings a tailored, designer touch to the room.

FAQs

What is a "return"?

The return is the distance from the wall to the front edge of the valance or cornice. It's what allows the treatment to fully conceal the rod, track, or bracket beneath it for a clean look.

How do I measure for a valance?

Start with the width — measure your window frame or curtain rod, adding 4–6 inches on each side for a balanced look, or aligning flush with the frame for a more minimal, modern line.

Next, measure the height from the mounting point down to where you'd like the bottom edge to fall.

Finally, measure the return — the distance from the wall to the front of the rod or track — to make sure the hardware is fully concealed.

Do you offer professional installation?

Yes, in select cities. We offer professional in-home installation services that handle fitting, hanging, and final dressing.

How long does it take to receive my order?

Normally, curtains will arrive within 5–12 days after you place the order. Expedited options are available at checkout.

Can I try the fabric before I place my order?

Yes — request fabric swatches, delivered in 2–6 days. See the color in your own light and feel the weight before you commit.
